Minutes of Steering Committee
Austin Convocation of Cursillo
Diocese of Texas
May 6 @ St. George's, Austin.

Members Present: Steve Ryder, Chair; Collett Foyt, Treasurer; Jerry Lyle, St. Richard's; Joe Nanus, St. George's; Dyke Miller, St. Matthew's; and Ann Crawford, Christ Church

The Treasurer presented a report through April 30, 2001. A check covering the first two quarters of our contributions to the Diocesesan movement was sent the week prior to the meeting.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read. Joe moved to accept the minutes as written. Jerry seconded the motion which then carried.

Report on the Secretariat: Since the Steering Committee meeting was so early in the month, the Secretariat had not met. Therefore there was no report given. Joe said he would provide a report to Steve for posting on the web site following the May 19 meeting.

There was a short discussion about how to replace Cursillo crosses. Two suggestions were made: contact the team supply person (David Kemp) in Navasota or the supplier in Metaire, LA.

Joe reported that the Day of Deeper Understanding in Killeen went well.

There was a lengthy discussion about the time of Ultreyas and the location of the next Ultreya. Ann volunteered Christ Church for the June Ultreya, pending contact (or lack of) with Resurrection.

Steve talked about the results of the survey he sent out regarding what time the Ultreyas should start. There had been some discussion about moving the start time to 6:00 that would allow people with children to attend more easily. Based on the limited response to the survey, the committee decided to move the start time to 6:00 for the summer, then re-evaluate in September. Steering committee meetings, if scheduled, will begin at 5:00.

The meeting was adjourned by acclamation.
